Thanks all for your replies.
I've already raised a complaint with them which they responded and as expected, it wasn't upheld. Yes, i can go down the road of the FOS but it will all come to the same dead end, they are within their legal rights to do this but that doesn't mean it is good or acceptable practice, given the time and the process behind it all.
I understand why the industry needs to go through AML checks but why does it only seem like Revolut is doing this and treating customers this way? Trustpilot is full of fake reviews but digging only a little bit deeper: https://www.reviews.io/company-reviews/store/revolut they seem to be doing it to everyone, regardless of the what kind of transactions are going through the account.
With next to no customer service, freezing accounts while using the AML process as the main excuse and taking as long as they want (a loophole they're taking advantage of), hundreds if not thousands of inbound and outbound transactions not being received and "stuck" somewhere - i am finding it increasingly difficult to believe this is all standard practice.
I'm speaking with a handful of their customers who are easy to find and that are in the same boat as me, they've been waiting for their account to be lifted from the restriction for months!
With all this money being held in frozen accounts, are they allowed to be earning interest from it all?0 -
