Can we just answer hello then tell them the amount?

I think so, it does not say in t&cs anything about saying the amount straight away, will find out when they play today’s call

Day 1 - 3 rings lady picks up, presenter asks lady where from and she says from Birmingham.  Presenter says to lady Tell Us The Total, lady says £54,000. Presenter informs lady correct amount is £5432.00p nothing won, presenter says sorry and commiserations to lady.  
 Rollover tomorrow - today’s entries and tomorrow’s entries will be in draw tomorrow. 
Tomorrow’s amount -£6287.00p

Where did she get 54K from!? Its a brand new competition how do you mess it up on the first day

Maybe she hadn't checked today's amount and was guessing based on the previous comp.
It's a shame they're not still giving the consolation £1k for picking up within 5 rings, poor woman.....

I thought she could have misread the £5432 as £54,000 but not sure this is it because she would have said £54,320.  She did seem confident so I was expecting lady to say the £5432 and win

Liz agree it would have been a nice gesture to give the lady £1K, so many enter the free online comps and getting a call like this again for this lady could be years even if she enters comps regularly or even never again

I'm more concerned about the risk to people's mental health if they make a mistake like that.  

And I think that's why they previously did the £1k minimum prize.

Day 2 - 3 rings lady picks up, presenter asks lady where from and lady says Leigh-on-Sea. 

  Presenter asks lady Tell Us The Total and lady gives correct 

£6287 and wins.
 Lady says oh my god and thank you so much, presenter asks be honest did you expect the phone call and lady says no.
  Will spend win on treating husband and daughters to a holiday. Presenter says to lady she needs to treat herself as well and lady says she will try and treat herself as well. 
  Tomorrow’s amount-£7555.00p

Day 3, 3 rings gent picks up, from I think he said Shoreham-on-sea. Presenter asks Tell Us The Total and gent gives correct £7555.00p and wins. 

  Winner says is at work about to finish 15-20 minutes. Presenter says I think he said to winner ask boss for a day off now that he has won, I think winner said call in sick how about that. Winner says oh my god cannot believe it. 

Tomorrow’s amount- £9,150.00p
