Car insurance nightmare

This is my second post, my first post went to site feedback and I didnt explain it clearly.
I had a white range rover which was stolen a few months ago, ive been investigated by the insurance company, had to sign a statement with a field investigator. The car was found shortly after by the police, badly burnt. I notified the insurance company and they picked it up 2 weeks later, its now been put to the fraud team because they are saying the car they recovered is green and they do not believe its my car. However when the police found it they identified it as a white range rover with my chassis number and they sent me photos and in the photos you can see the car is white. The previous colour of the car was green so there probably are remains of green. Ive sent over the photos that the police sent me which show it was white. They haven't even spoke to the police or requested a police report to validate what I'm saying. Ive had to go into the police station and request one myself. They said in order to be satisfied they want my itemised phone bill which I have sent but it seems like there still digging so why would they lie and say they will be satisfied. Im also in active treatment for PTSD for a violent attack a few years ago and its taken me a long time on a waiting list to get help. Ive contemplated suicide a number of times due to my PTSD and the nature of treatment is very traumatic and I just don't have the strength to fight the insurance.company anymore. Would it be worth telling them of my mental illness

I can't answer the question about the PTSD as I do not know what is the best, and whether it should have been declared when the policy was taken out.  There may be others that can advise on this aspect of the post.

Hopefully you can understand why the insurers are cautious to ensure they are paying out on the correct vehicle.  One other source of evidence you may have on that is if the DVLA records (your V5) note the change of colour from green to white.  I don't actually know if this is shown as I have never had a car with a colour change, but the V5 certainly records current colour of the car.  Even if the previous colour is not on the V5, It may well be that the DVLA hold the record data and can provide confirmation of change when there is legitimate reason to share the information.  I would expect that a request from an insurer would be a legitimate reason.

Yes the colour change was declared on the logbook and the insurance company said they are aware of the colour change. Ive sent them photos which show the car was white when found and I havent heard anything back

I think you might have to give them more than a week. Staff could be on holiday, absent due to covid.

And if you're responding like this to the insurance company you might want to consider asking someone else to liaise with them on your behalf.

One of the HPI checkers shows changes of colour over the life of a vehicle - not sure which one but I'm sure someone else can give info

They've obviously enough suspicions that they're digging - unless you've something to hide then you're going to have to rein in the attitude and sing to their tune
I have sung to their tune for the past 9 weeks. Ive been nothing but polite and co operative. They talk to me rudely and im suppose to just sit here and keep taking it. I have nothing to hide. Ive given them everything they asked for, now its time to get the police report, they've been silent. But your right il rein in the attitude. Its not like I paid them alot of money to insure me
