Please advise re Insurance for UK Group house holiday

We have booked a house for a week in the UK and have been advised to take out insurance for it.

Do we need to purchase new insurance for the multiple family group to cover this or would all of our individual family policies be adequate.  Advice appreciated as I've been unable to find a definitive answer elsewhere.  TIA

The person renting the house will want to be paid the full price even if some of the party don't turn up for whatever reason.  I think that everyone should pay upfront so that the person booking does not risk losing out if someone is unable to go or chooses not to.

What does this insurance you are being offered cover?

They arent offering, just recommended I take out insurance.  2 of the families have annual insurance already.  They are happy to buy a policy together but I was just trying to find out if it was needed.

Individual policies will only cover  the persons named on the policy and not any other members of the party.

If any  members were unable to go would the rest still want to go? If not , then you need a group booking so that everybody is covered on the one policy.
