Barcelona trip for 48 hours?

Fancy a quick 48 hour trip, change of environment and clear my mind.
I'm fully vaccinated so understand entry is not an issue.
My query is entry into England, it states a approved test result in Spain upto 3 days before travel.
How does this work with a quick 48 hour trip? Does it mean I won't need to fulfill this?
Or better to be safe and book one on day before fligjt back?
Thanks in advance !

If Spain stays Amber - You will need a test before returning , you won’t be able to board the plane or enter the UK without it .
In addition you must also buy a Day 2 PCR test ( from the suppliers on the Government approved list )to be taken within two days of returning to the UK.
Some media reports this weekend are speculating that Spain may become Amber Plus next week - which would mean quarantine applies even for those double vaccinated . https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/uk-covid-travel-amber-watch-list-rules-travel-review-european-holidays-b948553.html

If things don't change, you say I need a negative test before boarding, how old can this be?1 -
You must take the test in the 3 days before the flight on which you will return to England departs.https://youtu.be/-DbXDItoJ24
So if you are only away 48 hours you could take it in UK on the day you leave and use it for your return -0 -

Is it possible that on the return the customs or airline staff will only accept a Spanish test? Possibly they come with a barcode or reference number so that the Spanish authorities can check, that an English test would lack.

Quote below is from UK Gov website
“Taking your test in the UK before travel
If you are returning to the UK within 3 days, you can use the result of a COVID-19 test that you take in the UKbefore you travel. You must use a private test provider for the test and not an NHS test.
The service on which you will arrive back in the UK must set off for the UK within 3 days of when you took the test.”
“ Your test result must be in either English, French or Spanish. ”
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-england
These are the requirements of the UK and that is what the airline for your return trip will be checking for.
