If Sky quote you one price for Sky Q Multiroom and charge you more, is it a scam.

Recently a Sky engineer attended my house to look at the broadband router. After he had finished the work he asked me if I would be interested in a Sky Q Multiroom deal of £10/mth on an 18 month contract (£5/mth discount). After quizzing him about any hidden costs and after being shown a breakdown on his iPad I agreed. 3 days later a Sky engineer attended my house to fit the equipment and initiate Multiroom. 4 days later I checked my Sky bill account and found that I had only been given £1/mth discount which means I have to pay £14/mth instead of £10/mth and my Sky Entertainment package had been upgraded to Sky Signature and the monthly cost of that had been increased by £1. I immediately contacted Sky and the gentleman said there must have been a mistake and he discussed it with his line manager. He returned to say that he was making notes on my account file and the problem would be sorted by his line manager in 2-3 days and my account altered accordingly. He also said my Talk package would be discounted by £2.50/mth to compensate me for the trouble I had been subjected to (admission of guilt, perhaps??). After 3 days my account had been altered to show the £2.50 Talk discount but the Multiroom remained at £14/mth. Sky contacted once again when the operative said that nothing could be done and suggested taking the equipment out again! I informed him I believed I had a verbal contract and wanted it looked into or would take it further. He opened a Case# and said it would take up to 7 days to review the problem. 30 mins later I received an email simply saying that the case had been closed! Immediately contacted Sky again and was left hanging on the phone for 35 minutes at which time I hung up and emailed Sky with a formal complaint. Email acknowledged and awaiting a reply. Been a customer for 30 years and this is the way you are treated!

Moral of the story:  Never say yes to anything the engineer says especially if it involves upgrades/deals.

And also be aware that Sky charge a month in advance so you may want to check the "my future bills" section of your billing section, because the billing system looks painfully confusing if you change halfway through a billing period.
