OUR BRILLIANT GOLDEN UNICORN TREASURE HUNT IS NOW ON!
Running across three weeks, solve the riddles to find our Golden Unicorn hiding in Britain’s most famous locations and you could win:- £1,000 in our daily game
- £5,000 in our weekly game
- £50,000 in our final jackpot
HOW TO PLAY
- On Saturday, start the game by finding the hidden letters in our illustration. Unscramble the letters to spell out our first location - which will be related to this week's theme.
- You will use this location word to start playing the Golden Unicorn Treasure Hunt.
- If you’re a subscriber of The Digital Edition, you will be able to find your Golden Unicorn game underneath the Menu tab.
- From Monday to Friday the game will continue with a riddle in the Daily Mail each day. Crack the riddle to work out the location for that day.
- Enter each day’s answer to reveal a square of the week’s location image. Solve the riddle each day to unlock the remaining five picture squares.
- Enter each day’s answer on the day of publication and you will be entered into the daily draw to win £1,000.
- Unlock all six squares and you’ll reveal the full image of where the Golden Unicorn is hiding that week. Once the location is revealed, enter the name of the location correctly and you’ll be entered into the weekly draw to win £5,000!
- By entering each weekly competition, you will gain entry into the final draw to win £50,000. Each week’s correct answer counts as one entry e.g. Answer 3 weeks correctly and you will get 3 entries into the draw.

Golden Unicorn Treasure Hunt - Terms and Conditions
2. By entering the Promotion entrants are deemed to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions.
3. Entrants must be aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Proof of eligibility must be provided upon request.
4. The Promotion will run in the Daily Mail newspaper and on the Mail Digital Edition on each of the following dates:
Week 1: Saturday, July 24 until Friday, July 30 (excluding Sunday, July 25);
Week 2: Saturday, July 31 until Friday, August 6 (excluding Sunday, August 1); and
Week 3: Saturday, August 7 until Friday, August 13, 2021 (excluding Sunday, August 8).
(Weeks 1, 2 and 3 together, the “Promotion Period”.)
5. During the Promotion Period, there will eighteen (18) daily games (each a “Daily Game”, together, the “Daily Games”) and three (3) weekly games (each a “Weekly Game”, together, the “Weekly Games”). Entry into the £50,000 jackpot prize draw is automatic if you have correctly entered any or all of the Weekly Games.
6. The Mail on Sunday is excluded from the Promotion and will not publish either the Daily Game or the Weekly Game.
How to enter – Weekly Game
7. Digital route: Weekly Games will start in the Daily Mail on (1) Saturday 24 July; (2) Saturday 31 July; and (3) Saturday 7 August. Each Saturday’s paper will feature an artwork on that week’s theme in which five letters are hidden. Unscramble the letter to reveal the answer.
8. Once you have the answer, log on to your MyMail account or if you do not have an account, register your details here. You will then be provided with a link to one day’s free access to the Mail’s Digital Edition where you can play. (Existing subscribers to the Digital Edition can find the Weekly Game underneath the Menu tab on the app). Enter the answer where indicated which will then reveal a square of the location image for the relevant Weekly Game. Following the launch of each Weekly Game in Saturday’s paper, five further clues in riddle form will be published consecutively in the paper from Monday to Friday. Solve each riddle to unlock all six squares and guess the location of the Golden Unicorn.
9. Once you have guessed the location of the Golden Unicorn, provide your answer, by no later than 23:59 on the Friday of the Weekly Game you are playing as follows:
a. free entry route: via MyMail (or you will need to register your details if you do not have a MyMail account); or
a. text 65700 with the word GOLDEN followed by your answer, name and phone number. Cost £1.50 per text (plus standard network charge); or
b. premium rate phone call to 0901 293 6202 and leave your answer, name and phone number. Calls cost £1.50 (plus your usual network charge).
10. Non-digital route: Keep a note of each of your six answers for the Weekly Game you are playing. There will be a grid published in Friday’s edition of the paper following the Weekly Game launch on the preceding Saturday. Insert your six answers into the printed grid. Unscramble the shaded letters to reveal that week’s solution. To enter, text 65700 with the word UNICORN, followed by your answer, name and phone number. Texts cost £1.50, plus standard network charge. Or call (premium rate phone call) 0901 293 6202 and leave your answer, name and phone number. A call cost £1.50 (plus your usual network charge).
How to enter – Daily Game
11. The Daily Game will run in the Daily Mail each day (excluding Sundays) during the Promotion Period. Solve that day’s clue or riddle and provide your answer no later than 23.59 on the day of publication as follows:
a. free entry route: via MyMail (or you will need to register your details if you do not have a MyMail account); or
b. text 65700 with the word GOLDEN followed by your answer, name and phone number. Cost £1 per text (plus standard network charge); or
c. premium rate phone call to 0901 293 6202 and leave your answer, name and phone number. Calls cost £1 (plus your usual network charge).
12. If you are already a subscriber to the Mail Digital Edition the Promotion will run during the Promotion Period via the site/app where you can play and enter the Daily Games and the Weekly Games; you do not need to purchase the Daily Mail newspaper.
13. You may enter the Daily Games and Weekly Games by text or by phone as many times as you wish, but only one free entry per person will be accepted via MyMail.co.uk account/registration/Mail Digital Edition account for each Daily Game and/or for each Weekly Game.
14. If you enter by text or phone, you will be advised if you have given the incorrect answer. You will be charged for this text or phone call. You may enter again but will have to pay a further set of text or phone charges for each further entry. If you enter by MyMail, you will not be able to proceed if your answer is incorrect.
Prizes
15. Daily Game draw - one £1,000 cash prize available each day during the Promotion Period. Winner will be picked at random from all eligible entries in that day’s Daily Game (eighteen winners in total over the Promotion Period) (total prize pot £18,000);
16. Weekly Game draw - one £5,000 cash prize available for each of the three Weekly Games. Each winner will be picked at random from all eligible entries in the relevant Weekly Game (three winners in total over the Promotion Period) (total prize pot £15,000);
17. £50,000 jackpot prize draw - one winner chosen at random from all eligible entries into the Weekly Games. Entry into the jackpot prize draw is automatic if you have correctly entered any or all of the Weekly Games. (If you have correctly entered each of the 3 Weekly Games by MyMail account/registration (or via your Mail Digital Edition subscription), you will get 3 entries into the jackpot prize draw. If, in addition, you also correctly entered each of the 3 Weekly Games by text (or phone), you would get a further three entries into the jackpot prize draw, meaning you would get 6 entries in total into the jackpot prize draw.)
18. All winners will be selected in a random drawn by an independent person from all eligible entries and will be contacted as follows:
a. Daily Game: each winner will be contacted between 9am and 5pm on the next working day after publication.
b. Weekly Game: each winner will be contacted between 9am and 11am on the Monday morning following the Weekly Game’s close on the preceding Friday.
c. £50,000 jackpot prize: the winner will be contacted by telephone by 6pm on Monday August 16.
19. We will attempt to call a winner three times within the timescales (above) on the telephone number provided by the winner. Failure by the winner to answer the call and accept the prize in the manner specified by the Promoter will make any prize won invalid and the Promoter will then select at random another prize winner from all remaining eligible entries.
20. The initials and counties of the winners of the Daily Games, Weekly Games and the £50,000 jackpot prize will be made available by contacting the Promoter at the address below.
Publicity
21. By entering this Promotion, all entrants acknowledge and agree that if they are one of the winners they agree to allow the Promoter to visit them either at their home (COVID restrictions and safety measures will apply) or at another location as agreed between the Promoter and the winner, to be photographed for advertising and publicity purposes in connection with this Promotion. (This includes, but is not limited to, publication of the winner's name and photograph on the Promoter’s websites and newspapers.)
General
22. The determination and decision of the Promoter on all matters shall be final and no promotional correspondence or discussion will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right in its reasonable discretion: (a) to disqualify any claimant, competitor or nominee whose conduct is contrary to the spirit of the rules or the intention of the Promotion and to declare as void any or all of their claims or entries based on such conduct; (b) to declare as void any claims or entries resulting from any printing, production and/or distribution errors (including but not limited to any error(s) on any website of the Promoter, any game cards and/or other printed materials) or where there have been error(s) in any aspect of the preparation for or conduct of the promotion materially affecting the result of the promotion or the number of claimants or the value of claims; (c) to add to or to waive any rules on reasonable notice; and/or (d) to cancel the Promotion or any part of it at any stage in the event of circumstances beyond the Promoter's reasonable control.

If, at any time, we suspect fraudulent and/or suspicious activity in connection with: (a) your MyMail account/Mail Digital Edition account/registration (which will include any action you take which (i) results in the creation or operation of multiple MyMail accounts/Mail Digital Edition accounts/registrations; or (ii) creates multiple entries into the Daily and/or Weekly Games and/or the jackpot prize draw via your MyMail account/Mail Digital Edition account/registration or by any other mode of entry provided under these Terms and Conditions); or (b) any other aspect of your involvement with the Promotion, we may investigate. If we have reasonable grounds to suspect you have acted fraudulently in any way in connection with the Promotion, then acting by our sole discretion, we may disqualify you from the Promotion and/or withhold any prize money due to you.
24. We will not accept responsibility for any Promotion entries that are lost, mislaid, corrupted or delayed, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
