Banking Apps Deletion and Re-installing / Question Regarding Bank Account Details....

I've recently opened an account with Starling Bank, this is also my first time using a banking app and I have a question.

As all the bank account is run via the app which holds all of my account details what would happen if the app was deleted from my phone or if an update somehow got messed up and I had to delete the app and start again. What happens to my bank account details?  How do my account details get transferred to the new app? ...............(I'm assuming the newly downloaded app will be blank).

Most bank apps you sign in with the same details you would have used for a web portal somewhere.  So you should be able to just reload the app and sign in with a username/id/email/whatever and a password/authentication code/key/whatever.  Its very unlikely your sort code, account number and balance are on your phone, the app is more likely to get them off a server somewhere run by Starling.

Starling will ask for your mobile number and password for a fresh install - ie new device. There will be some 2FA authentication via a text message to your mobile number as well.

That is all that is needed to link to your bank account.
