Thanks to advice on here we have decided to go for LVT glue down in our extension and through to the hall and bathroom. Some of the floors will be new concrete , others are original solid floor. We are in a bungalow. Have had a couple of quotes so far but can anyone advise on the questions to ask the fitters to guage on who will be the most competent? Have got 2 from Check a Trade and one from Tapi. I am asking this because our builder said we would need a waterproof membrane on top of the new concrete but one of the guys who came didn't seem to think we would need one. Help please ! There will be about 65 m2 of this and we are of an age we only want to do this once !

If it's new concrete then yes, it will need a liquid DPM putting down. Concrete needs about a
month to dry out per inch of depth.Anyone coming in should be able to offer you the right sort of advice without you really needed to ask the questions. They're supposed to be the experts, after all.It sounds like your builder already has a clue.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

When I had LVT put down on a concrete floor (very old concrete floors), then a waterproof underlay was needed. You're going to have to put something down underneath the LVT.
I believe in the 'old days', which was only a few years ago, it was necessary to put down waterproof foil, then underlay, but nowadays you can get underlay for LVT that has a foil lining on one side, so it's job done.2
