Tesco Bank initial credit limit

Hello, I'm about to renovate my bathroom and I'm thinking of using a credit card to pay for it so I don't have to pay it right away. I was looking at credit cards like the Tesco bank, which offered 0% interest for 20 months and was wondering what initial limits you get as I'm looking to spend around£3,000. It also stated that I have a 95% chance of getting this card.
I’m just wondering of what kind of limits they usually give?

Impossible to say, the credit limit you will get will depend on your circumstances, which we have no idea about.
  • I found when I did a soft check during application process for the new Lloyds cashback card that they gave me the limit I could get (I asked for £2k and they gave £4k in the end) - maybe Tesco will give you an idea during the soft search? I suspect the 95% figure you mention comes from something like MSE or a credit reference agency site? If so, check it on Tesco first. Also check the terms of the deal e.g. if you can purchase during say 3 months and whether the purchasing 20 months is a fixed limit e.g. buying on day 1 and day 90 has to be paid off in the 20 months just to manage your budget.

You'll have to apply and they will inform you of your credit limit based on their assessment of your credit profile etc.
