Hi, I'm hoping to get my licence back and I've been unbanned, now I know I have to declare my current convictions but I'm a bit confused about what I have to declare as I received a TT99 totting up ban, so do I just declare that of the convictions leading up to that aswell? Thanks in advance.

That's why most folk would dread the thought of being banned - it's not just the ban/fine itself, it's the ongoing insurance costs for the next few years as well.Could be worse - a drunk driving conviction would give you even steeper premiums.0

Yeah I was expecting it, I was mentally unwell at the time and drove without insurance or a licence. Not saying the ban wasn't justified as it was, I just wasn't in the best place.

You will be asked for any convictions and endorsements that you have. TT99 is and endorsement separate and apart from those which led to your totting up ban. I assume you committed other offences apart from the no licence/no insurance episode as the maximum number of points that can be imposed for No Insurance is eight. Regardless of the totting up ban, an IN10 endorsement (for no insurance) will see your premiums rocket.0

As a general rule of thumb, there is zero point in keeping things away from insurers.
If it's not relevant, but you tell them anyway, it won't affect the premium.
If it is relevant, but you don't tell them, you are in for a world of hurt if/when they find out.
The least-worst is that they simply charge you the extra premium.
Having a policy cancelled needs declaring for life, and will result in many insurers not wanting to touch you.
Having a sizeable claim handed back to you could result in bankruptcy as well.
Remember, they can access your licence details via your licence number anyway.0 -
