Santander mini123 bank account

Hello, I have a question about kids bank account with Santander. Opened mini123 acc for my kid in my trust last month. Bank worker told me to bring a kid with me if he wanted a debit bank card. So a month later we go together and another worker tells me he should be 13 to hv debit card. I come home, go through papers that I've signed and it does say from 11 y a child can manage acc by himself. He is 12 now. So have I misunderstood what is written here? He can have a debit card from 11 y, can't he? Thanks.

The only thing I can find is that an account in trust cannot have a debit card so by that logic an account not in trust can have a debit card. An account does not have to be in trust for a child over 11 so they should be able to have a debit card.
