What’s the hardest you’ve ever worked for a refund? Or for compensation?

Hello folks,
I recently managed to get my money back from a big international company after months of being told 'no'. I sent email after email, quoting bits of Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 given to me by Citizens Advice, but to no success. Eventually I made a chargeback claim through my bank and was successful. It was a brilliant, vindicating feeling.
Now, I realise my effort here was minimal compared to what others must have gone through - it's not as if I had to camp outside the company's HQ or anything. So please tell me: what's the hardest YOU'VE every worked for a refund or compensation? When did you reach the point most people would have quit, and instead decide to keep on banging at the door?

I think many see compensation as a dirty word on this forum
Are MSE able to write an article on Argos not comping with the The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013?
I'm sure you could find plenty of other big companies who don't comply either if you didn't want to single out Argos. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
Now go over to the travel section where there are now several similar stories against Ryanair but people have then found when trying to book their next flight that Ryanair will not allow them to book without repaying the chargeback first.MSE_Laura_F said:Eventually I made a chargeback claim through my bank and was successful. Chargeback is a reasonable tool but the bank doesnt have the right to decide the underlying question and a successful chargeback can be quickly followed by you receiving a letter before action and a subsequent CCJ1 -
My word. I had a read of just a few of the Ryanair chargeback stories and have brought them to the attention of the news team. Sincere thanks for bringing those to my attention @Sandtree. We'll be digging deeper.Sandtree said:

Would you like to share details here, if you're comfortable to? Otherwise you could email news@moneysavingexpert.com.
Best wishes,
