My husband once used the high court sheriffs (HCS), to recover his final wages from an ex-employer. The ex-employer had previously sent my husband a photo of a cheque made out to him, and told the HCS that this was proof my husband had been paid. The HCS rang my husband to check if received anything (no), and then less than ten minutes later rang again asking him to check his bank account for a bank transfer that had just been made.0
