After Sky wanted my life savings when the "deal ended" i told me to **** off and am joining Talk talk, their TV/pause/box has no WiFi connection, can i use an adaptor or do I need a 40ft ethernet cable to my router?
Now we all know how it felt to play in the band on the Titanic...

Wired ethernet connection is best.
Next best is probably a mesh wifi system that has ethernet port(s) for that box to use. You'd disable the TT router wifi and use the mesh units with one connected by wire to the router to avoid conflicts.
Next is Powerline Adapter IF box and router are both on the same ring main circuit.
NB You DO have a working UHF TV aerial for the TT You View box to use as it won't connect to the $ky dish (and won't work without being tuned in on an aerial).0 -
You can use "powerline adapter" which carry the network connection through your electricity wires. TalkTalk support this solution and actually sell the pair of adapters you need. One plugs into the mains near your router with a wired connection, and the other plugs into the mains near the Youview box with wired connection. There are various types of these adapters on the market, you don't have to get them from TalkTalk.0
