Delivery drivers damaged floor

Haggisman123 said:Sorry to bump an old thread, but wondering if the OP ever got a response to this? I've just had fridge delivered by Mark's Electrical, and they've left a couple of scratches in the laminate floor I laid 3 weeks ago
Not sure what to actually ask for since I laid it myself and don't have a fitter to go back to for a quote to repair it
There are similarities (eg. fridges in both cases) but each case depends on its own unique set of facts.- Did the driver say to you that it was too far to go to the van to get the floor protection?
- Did you offer to provide the floor protection which was used?
- Was the fridge dragged or was it wheeled on a trolley?
- Are the T&Cs the same as they were two years ago?

Thanks for the reply:
1. Nope, nothing was mentioned about floor protection - I saw they had a trolley so (naively) figured they would roll it into position rather than needing to drag it.
2. Again nothing about floor protection - the laminate is AC5 durability rated (e.g. designed for busy commercial use) this relates to point 4 below.
3. See point 1 - they brought it into the kitchen on a trolley then placed on the floor, rotated, and slid into place - the damage has occurred where it was rotated, but they could have lined it up with the trolley instead and just slid it backwards into place
4. No idea if the T&Cs are identical, but they do state:
"please make sure that they have unobstructed access to the place you want your goods left, and that any floor surfaces which might be liable to damage are covered."
Surely any floor surface is "liable to damage" if you try hard enough? Given the durability rating of the flooring, I assumed (again naively) a professional delivery company would be able to manage without damaging it0
