My neighbour is effecting my health.

Ive lived in my owned property for 5 years (owned Scotland) my neighbour moved in 2 years ago, we share a paved small garden. When he first moved he started straight away allowing his dog to use the garden as a toilet without cleaning up. We asked several times to get the height of abuse, eventually I reported this to the local authority, and from then everything has gone downhill to the point mentally & physically my health as suffered.

He continues to mock us, call us disgusting names, spread rumours, make reports to any authority he thinks he can, he is basically making our life’s hell!

The dog still uses the small area to pee is several times a day and this is never cleaned, it stinks! I cant go out my back door without checking as the dog has gone for me several times, he was told to keep the dog on a lead and doesn’t.  I have tried several times to discuss this with his Landlord and getting no where.

Approaching 2 years of continuing harassment and I don’t know what to do.

In Scotland a landlord has a legal responsibility to resolve any antisocial behaviour that happens in or around the rental property and would say that your neighbour is being antisocial.  What is the landlord doing?  Just shrugging his shoulders?  Is he registered with the council as a landlord?

Are we talking about the dog just peeing, or about the neighbour failing to use bags to pick up more... substantial... deposits?

He is registered and eventually spoke to my neighbour who of course denied everything. We then managed around 4 weeks peace and then it starts again.

I told LL I have recorded evidence and he wasn’t interested in seeing it, he told me to go to the police, police tell me it’s down to the LL.

it’s just so horrible, I’ve been going to Doctors with stress, had time off work and it still continues.

im thinking of leaving my home, I don’t know how else to escape.

Now it’s pee, but as it is concrete it sits and stinks more so in this heat with also flys all round. It probably doesn’t sound a big deal but it’s such a small yard and it has become the dog toilet.

So all it needs is a quick rinse... assuming the rain doesn't do that (you're in Scotland?)

Yes, he should be doing it.

I would speak to whoever at the council deals with ASBOs (and possibly landlord registration).

The landlord is trying to wash his hands of this by fobbing you off.  The police aren't being particularly helpful if your neighbour is also harassing you.

Which department(s) at the council have you contacted so far about your problem neighbour?

I was thinking that @Rayray07 should be contacting the department that deals with landlord registration with a view to getting the landlord's registration revoked.

Move house.  To one that doesn't share a yard.

When all is said and done, it is only a house.  We used to have horrible neighbours.  They moved, thankfully and I hadn't realised just how much impact loving next door to them had on me.

It is the only permanent solution...

    Hi Ray.
Could you give us some examples of this abuse, please? And have you recorded - by writing it all down, dated - at least?
When you say you have 'recorded' evidence, what do you mean?
