Hermes delivery driver refuses to deliver to us for 4 months (and counting)

There are many users of this forum who would love to know how you managed to speak to someone as they cannot get past the 'holly' bot.
Yes, Holly bot is a pain. I have a short window when my parcel is marked as "Had trouble delivering" before the bot will not accept the parcel tracking code. After that, there's no way to contact them.

OK. Seeing your reply to my earlier post it looks like you were trying your best to sort this out with the driver.
I'm beginning to wonder if the driver may have quite significant issues of her own in terms of social interactions etc with other people?
Can you get one of your suppliers to complain to Hermes? Explain to them that if they can't persuade Hermes to deliver properly to you it's having an adverse impact on you?
Or persist with a formal complaint to Hermes...
Or challenge Hermes to deliver something when you know you will be in...0 -
Very odd behaviour on the part of the Hermes driver. Our local one puts the parcel by the front door, steps back, waits for us to open the door and then takes a photo of the parcel by the open door.
Pharmacy2u use Royal Mail. The only problem with them is the number of emails they send, even when you've told them to stop. They can be a bit slow to dispatch the drugs as well; they used to be exceptional and deliver drugs in under a week but over the course of the pandemic have been steadily getting slower. They never messed up a prescription for me though, unlike all of the local pharmacies.0 -
Have some devious fun at her expense.Send a parcel to yourself by Hermes.Either way she will be obliged to deliver it to you, as the recipient, or return to sender.Any shinanigans by her you can inform Hermes as you'll be the customer.9

I have no issue accepting deliveries from someone who I can trust to socially distance, but when one family member is medically recommended to shield, that means I must also do that so as not to put her at risk. Also, it would be very unfortunate to be forced into a position where my wife cannot accept parcels on her own because of her medical condition. No person with a disability should be forced into that position where they have to rely on someone else if they don't have to.
One poster suggested the problems might be related to the courier being a foreign man where some info might be lost in translation, but this is an English woman.
Regarding the other suggestions about how we might come to compromise about the exchange and might resolve the issue with both us and the courier being comfortable would be really great. I tried to engage the courier multiple times on how we can resolve but they shut me down, shouted at us, or tried to push at our door. It was actually quite scary.
I hope that, given Hermes have said we have not asked for anything unreasonable, that we might be able to get parcels delivered from Hermes without having to buy post boxes or other, but yes this is something I have considered.
I also appreciate the responses suggesting we contact the shops as it is them that we have the contract with. I will do that (there are several) but will do that when we've run out of options with Hermes.
Thanks for the suggestions.I can’t imagine how you’re doing anything if you’re this worried about getting near anyone in case you infect your wife!
Surely with food shopping, one of you must be going shopping or having it delivered?
Workmen?
I think you will have to just let people deliver and stand back a bit…😉You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
I use Lloyds online pharmacy and my meds are always delivered by Royal Mail, it's strange that they are using Hermes for the OP.It's not difficult!
'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner.
'Wonder' - to feel curious.0 -

It also specifies on their site that other delivery options are available.1

Have you had any previous issue with any Hermes delivery being reported as not delivered before this started?
The reaction of the delivery person and how they needed evidence of delivery sounds a little like they've had to adjust how they record deliveries as being delivered. Might not have even been you could have been someone on they're round.1
