Quote for double glazing

I I have been quoted £8000 for replacement of 6 double glazed windows. Is this very expensive ?

depends on what you've been quoted for . its like saying I have just bought a new car for £28,000 is that a good price

Ridiculously so! 

I say this having bought a huge amount of glazing recently, for my existing home and a new build. 6 normal sized replacement windows should cost you no ore than £2k.

Until the O.P returns with some more info its impossible to comment if its a good price . could be big box sash . could be timber or alli . could invove more than windows . brickwork or plastering , a lot of timber work . we truly don't know enough to make a decision . I have been installing windows for over 35 years now and rarely do they cost over a grand a window . I can do domestic for around 3 for a grand if there is no issues with them and some big some small
