Children and medical reasons
Children under 11 do not need to take a COVID-19 test before travelling.
Children aged between 11 and 18 must take a COVID-19 test before travelling. Proof of the child's negative test result must be shown by an adult travelling with the child upon arrival in Scotland.
If you’ve not been fully vaccinated by the NHS in the UK
If you’ve been vaccinated outside the UK, you’ll need to follow the amber list rules for those who are not fully vaccinated.
Children under 18
Children under the age of 18 returning to Scotland do not need to self-isolate.
If your child is aged over 12, they’ll need to take a COVID-19 test within 2 days of arriving in Scotland – you must book and pay for this test using the CTM Booking Portal. Children under 12 do not need to take a test.

Yes, your daughter needs a test before returning to UK but does not need to do day 2 test.
Entry to Portugal is set by the Portuguese government and is separate to Scottish requirements. Portugal does not require a test for a child under 12.1
