annual income criteria..qualifying

Hi,
i wanted to find out how do the credit card compaies know if im earning enough for their credit card or not

for example American express requires people to earn £20k for their card

how do they find out i earn just below 20k will they decline me ?

any help will be appreciated

i eanr 19 so you think i will be accepted i have credit score of 740 out of 1000

Provided you meet their minimum lending criteria, then you will get the card. The income is only a guide, and I doubt they ever check (Like you said, they have never checked for me!). The 740/1000 is just a credit expert number. I am supposedly 999/1000 according to my last two reports but the number is meaningless as each lender will have its own criteria.

PS. Just put £20k down on the application form.
