Morning all, mixed here, sunshine & showers. We were rudely awakened by fighting cats on the front garden, sounded like someone being murdered. It's the new cat on the block causing trouble, attacking poor cat from next door but 1 who has had a cut on his neck, and then his eye and ear were all battered.Been stuck into cleaning before it gets warmer, and just sat down for a breather...Hope your day gets better GersGot some easy options out of the freezer for tea, chicken & leek pie & some leftover frozen beef. Not enough on their own for the 3 of us, I'm guessing DS1 will have the pie as it's soft, he had a tooth out on Monday and it's still bleeding a bit. I thought as the DGC don't need picking up from school & I have the afternoon to myself, I shall make some cards- Scarlet, yes I struggle with mens cards too, tend to buy them unless it's an emergency one.I just need to fill in a bit more in my family research file, tend to do it all online, but this has pre-filled spaces for you to put your parents, grandparents. GG, and GGGreats. It's easy to look at a glance, my cousin & I are meeting up tomorrow with a more distant rellie. We have met before to compare notes but it was a few years ago. She had been shielding for the last year or more, got stuck in again over the lockdowns and we have been messaging, looking forward to it. Luckily it's in the afternoon as morning promises to be busy, sm delivery, and the energy supplier rang yesterday to say they are changing the new smart gas meter again as they have new technology that will allow it to reach the signal on the electric meter through the thick stone wall! Only did it last week.Enough waffle, hugs to poorlies, take care x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12

Dumpling good news on the insulin, keep up the good work. I had a chocolate brown uniform, with a brown felt bowler hat for the winter and a straw bowler for summer, yeuch !! We had to get mine from the top co-op as it was the only place that sold brown.Gers I hope everything works out. I would have given up before now with all the setbacks, well done for hanging in there.Rosy blimey re the meter, two in a week. I think our provider has given up trying to persuade me.I'm knee deep in the decluttering zone and really only stopped for lunch, but I've been distracted again. I've only done some of the craft stuff and that took me over an hour. I think I may have collected too much 🥴Right I'm back to it, if I don't post tomorrow I'm stuck under a ton of stuff 🤣nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

Our uniform was navy so fairly innocuous, Laura had bottle green dumpling, I don't know many people who wear that colour as an adult. Well done on the insulin by the way.i
We went to M & S this morning and stocked up with fruit and salad and also topped up the freezer. There were no discernible gaps on the shelves, not like Sainsbury's and Lidl that I went to at the weekend.
I want to do a bit of sewing and a bit of ironing this afternoon. I'm watching gymnastics atm, I must stop watching so much olympic coverage.
Gers, I'm glad they've managed to rearrange the delivery but I wouldn't be very happy about having to make the bed time and again.
Laura and Brian moved on from the hobbit house after just one night, Laura said she couldn't face another sleepless night there. She sent some lovely photo's of the wee man on a fork lift truck, which he thought was a digger, at a friend's cider farm.7 -
Phew success at last. I have been having problems with my breadmaker, have had to bin 2 loaves, discovered that I was not using the new scales properly, todays has turned out fine. I thought it was the yeast and have binned an almost full box, could scream.
Gers I hope your mattress arrives ok....and you last trip down to Glasgow goes ok.
Just had a swift trip to Tool Station to get DB stuff for his greenhouse, I ended up paying for a new trowel for him, not sure how that happened, we have a perfectly good one in the shed!! Our neighbour across the fence remarked on the greenhouse this morning, said she was quite jealous as it looked so nice. No idea why, she has two greenhouses in her garden full of rubbish.
Freezer dive found smoked haddock, so we will have that with a poached egg and a round of bread and butter for supper. DB picked two bowls of raspberries today, it has been a marvelous crop this year.......several bags in the freezer and more loose freezing in the freezer, will bag them tomorrow.
I also got a card from my friend in the US for my birthday.... a bit early its not for 2 weeks!!

My new mattress has arrived
two burly blokes did the swap over in about seven minutes flat. I think they enjoyed their long trip up from Glasgow. Bed is made again. Well done to JL for great customer service.
New router has also arrived so I can now be whizzy again. It means I'm paying for two lots of BB but I don't want to lose my BT address. Once fibre gets installed here - date unknown - it'll be better.I got the washing out on the line and three-quarters dry before the rain started, it turned into drizzle and then stopped. I brought it all in so it's now airing upstairs. My day started iffy and has turned out fine. I'm not doing anymore today, just a bit whacked. All this talk of uniforms took my mind back to my school days. We had it simple at grammar school, black blazer with a bright green trim, white blouse, black shirt and shoes. There was a school badge to sew onto the left-hand pocket of the blazer with the school motto of 'Humaniora' on. I'm blanking out the horror of primary school gym knickers which were big and navy. 'Music and Movement' anyone? Big school radio and bouncing around the dinner hall!7 -
Oh God !
I remember’Music and Movement!🤣
Do you remember class singing to a radio programme ‘Captain Morgan’s March’8 -
Ahahaha Gers when mum was alive the night before DD2s wedding we had loads of photo albums out one pic was of me playing netball for the school in my PE knickers DD was appalled that i just wore knickers for PE I did explain that they went over your underwear and they were so thick they were not giving any secrets away but she thought it was dreadful and couldn't understand how that was normal or acceptableSlava Ukraini8

Afternoon everyone
Just having a catch up while my hair dye works its' magic!
Little one stayed last night - she was a nightmare to settle - just kept screaming to get back up and got worked up into a right state. it was very unusual as she usually just lies down in her cot cuddles into a teddy and goes to sleep.
We had a lovely time after tea painting stones we got from the beach a while ago. It all started very sensibly - painting so carefully - then she painted her arms -'I have a tattoo like my mummy!' She had a great time - and then I washed her down in the paddling pool - which she thought was hilarious. Popped her in her fluffy dressing gown and she sat on the sofa with the cat, while I cleaned up.
DD said I made things too much fun so that's why she didn't want to go to sleep - I'll have to be a bit more boring next time!
Anyways, she woke up full of the joys this morning - we met mam and dad at the cafe at M and S at coffee time...where she excelled herself and sat so nicely in her highchair, chatting away and watching everyone.
They have an excellent offer on where if you spend £3.50 you can get a free child's meal - she had 3 little ham sandwiches, half a bumble bee biscuit ( great gran ate the other half) and half a banana ( I ate the other half!)
Then back home and daddy picked her up.
I've been trying to bring forward my dentist appointment to get a new bottom denture made, I've only had the temporary one 6 weeks but it's so loose already it's driving me mad. It turns out the lab they use is closed for a fortnight so I've got to wait till September - I really wanted it done before I go to Germany to visit DD (hopefully) It's annoyed me but there's nothing I can do about it. Better go and rinse this hair x
We've just had 5 minutes of massive hailstone - not round, more just little chunks of ice - now it's sunny again!6 -
I popped into town this morning while the fitters were here - making lots of noise. Got some lovely fabrics.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
