0% balance credit card

Approximately 2 years ago l took out a 0% balance transfer credit card. The 0% interest came to an end in April 2021, as this was a paperless account l did not check my statements to notice l was now being charged interest.
With any other contract l have entered into (ie utility companies or insurance companies) when my contract is coming to an end or up for renewal, l am always notified whether it be via email or post. I had not been notified by my credit card company that the 0% interest was coming to an end.
Now that l have become aware of the situation l shall be paying the balance off, but can l make a claim back for the interest they have subsequently charged me since April?

Your online statements almost certainly would have highlighted the end of the interest free period, if you failed to check your statements then the blame clearly lies with yourself. Doubtful you will get any rebate of the insurance.3

I'd be very surprised if you didn't get emails or letters (provided they have up to date details for you), Barclaycard send out them about 2 months before the end of the 0% period.
No you will not get any interest back, it was your responsibility to check the dates and ensure it was paid off. Also be careful to check for trailing interest for the next couple of months1 -
We live in a digital world, and with that comes instant notifications.
SMS Reminders, Email Reminders, Alerts through Apps - all of these will be in place.
If you haven't checked the digital statements, or you emails - that's on you.
If you haven't accepted SMS reminders - that's on you.
If you haven't installed the app - that's on you.
Personally I log in and check all my credit card accounts, and credit scores once a month.
Whilst it is easy to miss the end of an interest free period on a card, it is still your responsibility to monitor that. Perhaps now is the time to look for a new 0% deal instead of looking for compensation.1 -
Exactly this. Yes, some card providers do give you a reminder, but they're under no obligation to do so. The onus is on you to (a) read the T&Cs when you are first accepted for the card, maybe even going really old school and writing a note on your calendar for a month before the promo expires, and (b) to check your statements - whether online or paper - which will contain all the information you require.

I kinda guessed this would be the reply, was probably hoping someone would say otherwise0
