Plumber did not fir water pump to manufacture’s specification

A little over a year ago we had a Salamander water pump fitted to boost our hot water supply to the whole house. The pump worked well for 13 mths before it started to pump when no taps were on. We called the plumber in and spoke to Salamander. To cut a very long story short Salamander will not replace the pump because the plumber did not fit the pump to the correct specification, no flange fitted to hot water tank invalidating their warranty. What can I do

Get in touch with the plumber and ask him to come out and fit it correctly. If it's been damaged as a result of incorrect fitting, he should replace it.limetreep said:A little over a year ago we had a Salamander water pump fitted to boost our hot water supply to the whole house. Who did you buy the pump from? The plumber who fitted it or someone else?
If you bought it from the plumber then its very straight forward as irrespective of the cause your statutory rights are with them. If you bought it from another organisation and just paid the plumber to fit it then you may be caught in some finger pointing between the two companies if one says fitting is the problem and the other says the part is the problem.0 -
Since Salamander specify on their website that a flange must be fitted then go after the plumber as his incompetence has clearly destroyed the pumplimetreep said:A little over a year ago we had a Salamander water pump fitted to boost our hot water supply to the whole house.
