Fitted Wardrobes

Hi,
I have been looking at maximising the space in my bedroom & had a local carpenter out to do a quote.
She was recommended by a couple of people on a local website & wondering if anyone has a view on this cost?
The quote is £2.6k for
1.5m wide floor to ceiling wardrobe (600mm deep) with 3 doors & one divider
0.7m wide x 0.9m high cupboard (600mm deep) with doors & shelves.
Separate shelves above cupboard
Handles supplied by customer
Units are left for customer to paint
I could probably work something out using IKEA Pax or Freestanding but I can’t go floor to ceiling in the corner without comprising on the depth massively hence she suggested building a storage cupboard into the corner to fill the space
Thanks in Advance

Hi, assuming your quote is VAT inclusive it sounds OK to me. We're having two wardrobes of a similar size done by Hammonds and their price is £3,000 inc. VAT which includes handles, all rails & shelves inside etc. and no need to paint. The finance deal they offered is very good too - if you pay in full 12 months after installation there is no interest payable at all, only a £30 fee.
If you're planning to paint them yourself it looks like your carpenters quote comes out a bit cheaper than Hammonds which makes sense. We also had a visit from Sharps and their price was very similar.0 -
Look at ikea but then maybe get a carpenter to fill in the gaps around the edge and make it look fitted - I forget the name of it but we got a good combo from the PLATSA range. We don't mind the gaps but have that option in the future. Big double wardrobe and was under £600.0
