I have a smart metre 1 (SECURE) but want to move to Avro but they are not able to use Smart metre 1 - us this a reason Not to switch to them?

No - but you will have provide the supplier with readings.0

Avro still haven't set their systems up to work with smart meters so you will have to read the meter yourself and submit monthly readings.
The reason not to switch to Avro is that they don't reply to emails or answer the telephone.
