Car broke down yesterday

Hey everyone, I'm back again. So the misfire reappeared last week. Changed all the spark plugs. The plug on cylinder 1 was fouled. It's still misfiring when hot.
What's the best next course of action please?0 -
To add to this - potential... timing belt?? It's due to be changed. If its worn could that cause a misfire?0

Only if it's so worn it's skipped a tooth, and that'll likely throw up all sorts of errors as well as a lot worse than just a misfire.Mizydoscape said:To add to this - potential... timing belt?? It's due to be changed. If its worn could that cause a misfire?
How bad was the "fouled" plug? What sort of "fouling"?1 -
I literally have no idea (the man changed them for me) and said "this is what they should look like" I've got the plugs. This is the damaged one.AdrianC said:

If the timing belt is due to be changed, then it is likely a false economy to skip the change at the correct planned interval.Mizydoscape said:To add to this - potential... timing belt?? It's due to be changed. If its worn could that cause a misfire?1 -
Yes, I was planning to book this in September. I've always followed the service schedule for everything that is recommended since I've had the car from 18 months oldGrumpy_chap said:

Odd that the centre electrode's bent, but the outer one isn't.1 -
That's probably what he said. It was a bit stressful at the time!AdrianC said:

Any ideas from that? Or is it full diagnostics at a garage jobby?0 -
THAT will certainly cause a misfire!
Unless there's something kicking around loose inside the cylinder, which you'd know about, then the main two options are ham-fisted muppetry when it was installed, or a faulty plug.
I'd just chuck a new plug in and see what happens.1 -
Thanks but all the plugs were replaced (by someone else) after this one was pulled out and it's still misfiring 🤷♀️AdrianC said:THAT will certainly cause a misfire!

All this has only started happening after the full service in June. Maybe a coincidence. Maybe not?0
