Camping trip

Asking for a friend.
A friend of mine is down near me on a camping trip on a proper camp site, but their app has pinged asking them to self isolate for 9 days, yet they are due to leave the site on Saturday. How can they self isolate if they are due to drive home half way through the self isolation period?
I was due to visit them at the site before they leave but I dont want to risk it ss seems as though someone on the campsite in the tent next to them has covid.
But how does someone thrown into that situation manage? Would it be the same if it was a hotel for example?

They should go home, with minimal contact to do so (presumably they came by their own car); and then self-isolate at home.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

As above, the campsite will expect your friend to notify them of the situation and leave (not necessarily in that order). Friend can leave and phone campsite when at home.0

they should leave camp site ASAP and drive home with minimal contact,
they should do a PCR Test ASAP when home and notify the campsite,
Looks like someone with a tent near them has caught covid either they still there isolating in their tent or since left the campsite...
is your friends fully jabbed?0 -
They already left now, and got home and did a home test which looks a bit like a pregnancy test kit, and all negative. So a relief in one way, but they say feeling very frustrated as it cut short their camping holiday by nearly a week.
You can see now with that situation, and all the disruption we are seeing at our supermarkets with bare shelves, why people in their thousands are possibly deleting the nhs app to avoid disruption to their lives, and possibly why we are seeing a drop in infection rates for 8 days running, but is that a true reflection as to what is going on?
Is this a classic case of opening everything up combined with the useful nhs app now being dissolved prematurely because people want a trouble free summer?
This behaviour could backfire greatly.0 -
I'd give it a few more days and test again just to be absolutely certain.1

From Gov.uk website
LFD tests while you are self-isolating as a contact
If your LFD test result is negative, you should still stay at home and self-isolate to avoid putting others at risk. This is because you could still become infectious during the 10 day isolation period.
People who have COVID-19 can infect others from around 2 days before symptoms start, and for up to 10 days after. They can pass the infection to others, even if they have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all, which is why they must stay at home.
