Hi,
I know this isn't strictly Insurance but I wasn't sure where else to post.
I was involved in a hit and run nearly three years ago which left me with bad injuries. The police couldn't trace the driver so a claim was made through the MIB for compensation. MIB finally made a settlement offer in January and my solicitor said to expect the money within 4 weeks. It's now been 6 months and I'm still waiting, my solicitor isn't the best (whole other issue) and just keeps telling me they are waiting for MIB and are chasing them.
Should it really take this long from offer? Or are my solicitor possibly playing silly buggers?
Thanks!

Probably not your solicitors. The money would not come to them and if it did come via them it would be in a separate client account.
they are not likely to benefit in any way from slowing this down.
lots of things are affecting by COViD at the moment - people not being in offices, on furlough or isolating.
not a lot you can do other than chase at intervals you think are reasonable bearing in mind too often may be counter productive if it’s out of your solicitors control.0 -

Thanks, it's been two month since I last heard from my solicitor so I've contacted them again today.0
