County Court Claim

The template defence thread even tells you what to put if you don’t recall anything about the location, and surely the signs were hidden and dark (unlit at night maybe?) and so you had no idea that you had to have a permit because it looked like public highway and there were no prominent signs and lines.Job done. I’m right, aren’t I, that’s likely to be how it occurred because no-one would deliberately park in a residents private estate and agree to pay £100.0

A typical loss in court for one PCN is about £200 , which is the PCN + court claim fee + legal fees , the rest is spurious debt collector charge and interest
If you wanted to settle for a lower figure , you had the opportunity to pay about £65 at the very beginning
You could try as without prejudice offer of say £125 , the £90 plus £35 and anything agreed under £200 is a bonus
Your choice , defend and let a judge decide , negotiate or pay in full !!
The how it got to this point or two thirds of the figures are non negotiable3 -

How much do you think Gladstones will accept when they see that you are scared of court?
How much do you think a court would expect you to pay even in the unlikely event of you losing the case, but following the guidance here to minimise your costs?
You will by now have seen and read the template Defence. You can see that the argument against excessive costs has already been written for you.
You say you "can’t afford for it to go to court". I put it to you that you cannot afford for it not to go to court.
Sorry for being a bit blunt here... of course I am in no way making any judgement on what you can afford or not afford. That's entirely a matter for you.3 -

You are overthinking it and there is no 'can't afford to go to court'!
It's CHEAPER than paying now even if you lost. And 99% here win, all new to it.
And you would of course be sent images and indeed you can ask for them NOW, from Gladstones, under the pre-action protocol.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

- The parking event took place at: Pulse - Joslin Avenue, NW9 5DZ. Perhaps it’s worth noting the event took place at night, and I genuinely did not see any signage even though it is present. The claim form even refers to the signage as “The contract”
- I had a look to see if the place has been mentioned before on this forum and found one post, albeit a very limited one. I managed to use Google street view but the image quality is terrible.
- I do use Facebook, I’ll see if I can maybe get someone to have a look (unlikely)
