PPI result for deceased person

I have recently secured a sizeable PPI payment as executor for someone who died over 10 years ago. The solicitor who dealt with probate originally no longer exists, my question is really about how do I distribute it to the 4 beneficiaries? I obviously don’t want to put it through my personal bank account

Can you not ask the bank to distribute it according to the will??I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Just open a separate bank account and pass it though that.
Was the estate subject to IHT?0 -
Presumably the cheque will be payable to the estate of the late xxxx ?0

Why obviously? Just pay it in and split it 4 ways, that way you have a paper trail in case someone get shirty down the line
Provided you are not keeping it, I really don't see the issue. Father Ted won a Golden Cleric award as the money was just "resting" in his account so no reason you can't do it.1 -
Estate was not subject to IHT, PPI cheques made out to me as I was the one who made the claims0
