    seems like an ideal candidate for a low traffic neighbourhood, failing that organise parking to produce a chicane.

    You will end up with them blocking your street, it is what the council has done in our area to such rat runs. Great if you place of work and so on is on the right side of the block. Not so great if it isn't.
