Exposed Underbuild?

Options
Hi everyone!

What does an exposed underbuild mean on a new property? Iv had a look at the drawings and out of the 200+ houses I can only see around 20 with that red line...Including ours!

Kind Regards!

What is an Underbuild in construction?
The substructure or underbuilding is that largely hidden section of the building which is built off the foundations to the ground floor level. Under Building Construction. The standard form of underbuilding construction uses two skins of dense concrete blockwork for all external walls.

    Google is a wonderful thing.

It just means that there is a slope to the ground and there will be some additional facing brickwork to part of the house.

Ask to see the levels drawing in more detail so that you can see where the extra facing brickwork is located.

Usually ground level is 150mm below internal floor level. Sometimes, to suit the site, it's (much) lower externally -that's the exposed underbuild. It's no big deal.
