Initial Parking, Fistral beach Newquay

Please help!
My car leasing company received a penalty on 8 June regarding me parking in Fistral beach car park, and they passed all my details on to Initial Parking who issued the penalty. Sadly I overstayed the car park on 31 May by 20 minutes due to the time to took to work through the crowds and traffic so I accept the penalty. I have been waiting for the notification since 10th June (when Jag told me about it) but have today received a letter from a Debt Recovery agent claiming that I have ignored previous letters and now have to pay £170. I have explained to them that I never received a letter from Initial Parking but they have advised one was sent to me on 17 June, and I either have to pay £170 or go to court. I find this really unjust as I have not received anything, and could have paid £60 if I had, but it seems to be my word against theirs. They’ve offered no proof of postage and no alternative solution - either pay £170 or go to court.
Has anyone been through this and for advice on what I should do?

It's not a penalty , it's a parking charge notice
Ignore DRPL , as the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements tells you to , they are powerless and even a loss in court would be similar
The lease company named you as hirer , nobody but you knows who was driving , so no blabbing about who was driving , not to anyone
Try to appeal it on the Initial Parking website , as a hirer keeper , after reading the bottom of the First post in that newbies FAQ sticky thread , using an Edna basher template
Also email a SAR to the DPO at initial parking to obtain all your data attaching 2 recent redacted copies of recent redacted utility bills as proof of I D under the GDPR law
You should not be accepting anything at all. !! Frustration of contract is what caused the overstay by the driver , so perfectly reasonable , plus Initial Parking probably failed to comply with POFA , the law , by not including copies of the lease documents with the postal NTH PCN either !!1 -
You don’t accept the penalty because it isn’t one and because this car park requires a longer grace period to leave. That’s not your fault and you don’t owe anyone anything. That time was not parking time.
I hope you haven’t been phoning the debt recovery parasite firm? STOP!You need to reply in writing, just once, telling them to return the case to Initial and you will defend it in court and know that the added £70 is a false and unrecoverable layer, added by connivance between the parking firms and the debt recovery unregulated hangers-on.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
