Missing refund

Short version of my problem. A supplier refunded money to an account I no longer hold 18 months after I paid for service. I had changed banks so I have no idea where the money went. Their customer service is appalling. Letters and emails go unanswered and it is not possible to speak to the correct department or to a supervisor. 

The company will not tell me the name of the bank on the basis that this is personal data but is it really? Secondly, they have not responded to 3 requests for the ARN number so I can try to get the refund chased.

Any suggestions?

If the account is in your name, then its your data and they should be able to tell you which bank it is. 
However don't you know the name of the bank you used to be with?

They gave me the last 4 digits of the card number but since using it I had changed both bank and credit card companies - I had two. I still need the ARN number. 

The company will not give out an address for complaints but I plan to write to the CEO recorded delivery to see  if I finally get a reply. This company has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.
