Scottish Power no smart meter - fixed ending sson
Im with Scottish Power. Its been ok with the exception that they have not been able to give me any fitting date for a smart meter for 18 months.
I now have an electric car and would like to enjoy the savings of off peak electricity.
My fix runs out end of September, if i change to another fix with different supplier i'll ask for a smart meter from new supplier and then probably wont be able to change to the fix on the cheaper tariff for electric vehicles.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a specific EV tariff you're hoping to join?If you switch to Octopus, you can joing on one of their standard tariffs, ask for a smart meter then switch to one of their Go / Go Faster EV tariffs once installed. I’ve just switched from a Scottish Power fix to Octopus painlessly. Smart meters fitted 3 working days after my switch day and on to Go Faster tariff 3 days later. Scottish Power could give no indication at all about fitting a smart meter and I had been waiting 6 months.
As you have an EV, as mentioned a time of use tariff will be very attractive as will Solar and home battery installation.1
