Noticed watermarks in porch ceiling

Recently noticed these marks in the ceiling of the porch. The ventilation is quite poor in the porch. Not sure if there's a leak in the roof or if it's damp. What could be causing this and what should I do about it? Thank you.

Looks more like tide marks from a leak rather than mould growth from condensation. I'd be investigating what water sources there are on the outside.

Possibly a leak from the roof - Can you get on a ladder and take some photos from the outside ?

I'd agree with the above - I think it's too 'focused' a mark for it to be condensation, and the further tide-mark also suggests a greater amount of water at some point.
What kind of roof does your porch have - flat or pitched? If flat, then most likely a leak from outside. If pitched, then there's a chance it is condensation, but it's taking place in the roof void, and trickling down to land on the lowest point - that corner.
    Or it's also leaking!

It's a pitched roof. It's triangular shaped and comes to a point where the stains are. Thank you, I'll borrow a ladder and investigate.
  • Is it possible that you have got a blocked gutter? That’s what was causing water ingress in my porch.

Thank you for your advice. I've taken a photo of the porch from the outside. Going to buy a ladder tomorrow and will have a look.
