Getting a mortgage with slightly bad credit (CCJ) and how to amend

Hi Guys,

I have recently been thinking about getting a mortgage.

I have around 10 percent of the deposit saved.

The issue is my credit is not amazing.

I have a CCJ that I was not aware of. Is there anyway I can find out what is about specifically I am assuming an unpaid parking ticket.

I also have a defaults and possession from BT Sport as I stopped paying them when they stopped working despite me emailing them before hand.

What is recommended that I do in this situation and is getting a mortgage likely with a poorish credit score ( 230 out of 700 on clear score).

Thanks.

It's CCJs and defaults that'll hinder you, rather than the made-up number, so your best bet is probably to post on the mortgage board, frequented by brokers who should be able to advise:

Contact the court that issued the CCJ for further details about that....
  • Defaults and a CCJ are not "slightly bad", they are flags that mainstream lenders won't want to lend to you.

Parking ticket CCJs you can post on the motoring sub forum dedicated to these

I'd keep saving as a decent deposit might mitigate black markers from some time ago (they will also disappear after 6 years)
