Cybertruck UK

How come the cybertruck is so cheap?

I think it will be odd to be at a Tesla dealership and see a basic model Y single motor priced at the current £54,000, and sitting next to it a single motor CT with all the new mentioned upgrades for £30,000. Seems like that could make the Y a hard sell to a lot of buyers when they see this CT with so many more cool features and it costs almost half the price? They may not be in the market for a truck but it will make them wonder why the more expensive Model Y they are considering purchasing doesn’t have any comparable features but still costs more.

Those of us who locked in the price by putting deposit down on a CTruck early will be very happy

already they are predicting scalpers being able to sell a new cybertruck for almost double the RRP for those who got on the waiting list early

  • I hope this opening in the cab makes the final design, it will make the CT the ultimate camping car.

all the other cool features like it being bulletproof just means it’s a very safe vehicle in an accident

also four wheel steering makes it easy to manoeuvre and park

and the doors open on their own when you approach

also the option of autopilot and even self parking. They are talking about not to far off you being able to call your car and it will come and pick you up driverless and cybertruck will be the first to donthis

Where do you get the £30k price tag for the CT from?

It's a while since I saw the original preorder site but wasn't there fairly vague language about final pricing not being guaranteed?

Also I didn't think there was any chance of it coming to Europe because its design couldn't comply with regulations:

The chances of it appearing anywhere in the world in a form even remotely close to the one trailed so far are slender.
The chances of it appearing in the UK are near-zero.
The chances of it being £30k inc VAT when it does are far, FAR lower even than that.

The Ineos Grenadier has a far higher chance of production, and that really isn't saying much.

The Grenadier will enter production. No serious industry sources are saying otherwise now.
The design is production ready, they've bought a car factory, most of the mechanicals are pre-existing items from other manufacturers and realistically the design is very basic so tooling up the factory shouldn't be an issue.

It isn't going to be a volume seller but even if it is just for Jim Ratcliffe's ego they will produce it now that most of the hard work is already done.
