Inheritance Tax Forms and RNRB

I've just started looking at filling in inheritance tax forms for my late Mum. Everything including her home has been left to me (direct descendant). I know I am entitled to claim RNRB but I don't need to as the estate falls below the IHT threshold. Can I just complete the IHT 205 form and not claim the RNRB and avoid completing form IHT400 or could doing this cause me problems in the future? Many thanks

As you can’t actually make use of the RNRB you only need to fill in IHT205. This will not cause any issues in the future.1
