Nothing that would point to the dealer being in breach of contract.
And the dealer have, it seems, agreed to have a look and resolve it...

I wouldn't be demanding anything until you know what is causing the noise otherwise you could make yourself look very silly. Give them a call and go back to the garage today and tell them about the noise and that you are concerned that it's the brakes and you are worried - ask them what you should do. If you go this morning their service department might be open and, if necessary, a mechanic can have a look. Go back to the sales department though not direct to the service department.
    Who said anything about ‘demanding’
Poor choice of words on my part, I meant it was no point in going asking them to do a specific repair when none of us knew what the cause of the symptoms were. Some commentators get a bit giddy with quoting SoG Act this that and the other instead of doing what you have i.e. go and talk to the dealer in the first instance. Glad you are (hopefully) sorted.

Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.

Can you or do you have a friend/neighbour who can give the pads a visual and if they are happy with the friction material take it for a drive at appropriate speed to have a listen to what's going on. If it's due to lack of use it's likely some braking effort will return things to normal.
Thanks this useful advice. I do have someone who can do this. I’ll get them to have a look.

OP, I had a Ford fiesta that did this. I thought it was the end of the road for the poor thing. Took it to my mechanic who cleaned up the discs and pads, and it was right as rain. He didn't even charge me.

My car does this all the time if I let it stand for a day or two and the weather is damp. As I brake at the bottom of my lane, it sounds horrible. It's gone within a few hundred yards and is silent thereafter. Braking performance is fine. Modern discs will always rust slightly, and daily braking keeps them clean. Rust will only damage the discs if it is allowed to develop for long enough that the discs are pitted and ridged. Drive it briskly and brake firmly for about 10 miles, and I'm pretty sure the problem will disappear. The dealer is likely to apply the same remedy, by the way, rather then take each one off and polish it.
