Is PIP backdated to the initial phone call?

I've received the claim forms and it states that I need to submit them in a few weeks’ time. I'm assuming my claim has started from the call and not when DWP receive the forms?

Yes, if granted, the PIP award would be backdated to the date you called to request the application pack and answered a number of questions about your circumstances.

Unless of course the OP is transferring from DLA and then it's not backdated.

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

It's not backdated to the date of the phone call if your care and mobility difficulties had not been present for three months prior to the claim. Otherwise it is.
