Thunderbird Emails Disappeared

I use Thunderbird.
Also Hotmail ( Outlook ) & Gmail.
I created a new folder on Thunderbird about a month ago to store some
emails in so that they would be easy to find.
I check when I move emails into that folder that they have actually gone there
each time.
I went into the folder today & all the emails have gone except for one !!
I can't find them anywhere.
Anybody have any idea what has happened ??
And where they might have gone.

Do you now if the email folder was:
a) a local email folderb) an email folder stored on a mail server and accessed via IMAPIf that doesn't make sense let me know and I will try and explain the difference.A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?0 -
Can you access via web mail .

@CoastingHatbox
I was in Thunderbird & right clicked on my email address & clicked create new folder.
I then named it & it appeared below the usual folders already listed ie inox / junk / deleted etc
I presume that is a local folder ?
@JJ_Egan
That probably answers your point ?

If I right click on the folder then properties I get this
imap://Joe.Blogs%40hotmail.co.uk@imap-mail.outlook.com/Deleted/Mum%20%26-%20Dad
If that's of any help0 -
Is deleted a pre-existing folder or a folder you have created?
If it is a pre-existing folder, it probably has a periodic auto purge that deletes any email saved to the folder over a given age.

Its a pre existing folder, but the emails have not been put there.
I think the deleted folder does empty itself every 30 days but it has not been emptied recently.
I can't understand why the folder I have created has got 'deleted' in the properties ??

That "imap://Joe.Blogs%40hotmail.co.uk@imap-mail.outlook.com/Deleted/Mum%20%26-%20Dad" is not a local folderInstead of clicking on your email address right click on Local Folders....Create New Folder , then copy your emails from your inbox to Local Folders-->Mum and DadI guess that because your folder was stored @imap-mail.outlook.com it could have been cleaned ?4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Have you tried repairing the folder ?
All my saved emails in various folders vanished a few months ago and I repaired the folders and they came back but soon vanished again. They are still in the system. After the last update they all came back and everything was fine. Last week they all vanished again.1 -
