Easyjet flights/holidays - The difference between them if you want to cancel to Spain

Due to my wife showing positive for Covid last week and then the worry surrounding a possible positive showing whilst in Spain resulting in quarantine in a couple of weeks time prior to returning, we decided the risks are too great and thought we would cancel our flights (booked Easyjet flights and Airbnb accommodation a while back). However as the 'manage my bookings' didn't give me the cancellation option, I phoned their customer service. I waited 5-10 minutes which wasn't bad I thought. The fella on the other end told me that I can change our flights free of charge unless the flight it is being changed to is higher or if I cancel, I can only claim the tax back on it. I asked for a credit voucher, but was told this was not possible as their protection promise only covers 'Easyjet Holidays', not 'Easyjet Flights'. It took me an age to find this information on their website and to me it doesn't exactly hit you in the face, but there you have it! I left it as it is for the moment as we do not fly until the first week in August.

Easyjet have changed our flight times twice in the last month. The time difference from the original flights going out to Alicante is now 4 hours and the difference from the original flights on the return from Alicante is now 4 hours 35 minutes. The last schedule changes were made on 12th July, we are due to fly on 3rd August. Easyjet state that their 'significant' time change is 5 hours. As we are just looking for a credit voucher, not a cancellation and not a change if we can help it due to a few complications, just wondering if I have any ammunition with the schedule changes to be able to argue for a credit voucher?

Any advice as always is much appreciated.

Thank you
bb

Locally reports are saying possible strike by airline baggage handlers in Alicante 2-3 August.

We had flight times altered and right down at the bottom of the email was a little button to cancel and get a refund.  A very little button!  (I did still have to phone them).  Spain wasn't letting tourists/non-Spanish in anyway so we weren't going.

Whilst I know you don't want to cancel, have a check.  Just a thought.

We just had times changed (by about half an hour) - no cancellation options on our email.
