Composite Decking advice

Having some composite decking installed on a suspended timber frame and some people have advised to put some joist tape over the wood first to increase the lifespan, others have said it won't help much. Can anyone recommended either way? The timber is graded C16.
Is this stuff suitable? https://www.screwfix.com/p/everbuild-dpm-polythene-joint-tape-black-20m-x-75mm/713fr
Thanks

If you're going to the expense of composite decking, it's wise to use composite joists as they'll last forever. But yes, if you are using timber, then the tape will help protect the exposed top surface from sitting water starting to seep. It's certainly not going to hurt!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You would be better off using composite joists, but yes worth putting down as water gets trapped between decking and joists.
That is why wooden decking should be fitted groove down.Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'2
