UK break - does any travel insurance cover curtailment due to being asked to self-isolate??

Have read Martin's guide to travel insurance but every relevant policy seems to just say they cover cancellation due to being asked to self-isolate before you leave home, or having to cut short the holiday due to getting covid (or loved one dying etc).

I am most worried about losing half the holiday because of being told to self-isolate while there (not via the app but by doing any activities on holiday, being in restaurant etc) and having to go home to isolate - whereas I can't see any wording that says this either is or isn't covered.

I won't need repatriation, medical cover etc as just going within the UK!
Thanks

if contacted by track and trace you do not go home. You have to self isolate in your accommodation, with all the consequences of that.

Not disputing you sheramber but wonder if you can post a link to this requirement.

I have had two sets of friends in recent weeks who whilst on U.K. holidays have been pinged and therefore asked to self isolate. One whilst in Bath and one down in Cornwall.  Both couples decided to pack up and drive home as there self isolation period was greater than their holiday length. Neither stopped to mix with others at services or fuel stations.  To me this seemed reasonable as they might have created issues if they stayed put for their hosts/next guests (one in a hotel, one Air BnB) and incurred extra costs to stay put.  Should they not have done this?

This is from Norwich.gov.uk - Advice for visitors and tourists.

“If you test positive for Covid-19

If you feel well enough to travel and don’t need to use public transport, you should return home as quickly and directly as you can. If you feel so unwell that you can’t travel or can’t avoid public transport, you should continue to isolate and call 111 for further advice. It is important not to use public transport.

You must also tell your accommodation provider that you have tested positive. They can support you to isolate if you are staying and will need to conduct specific cleaning after you leave to ensure that the accommodation is safe for the next guests. If you are unwell and can’t return home, you will be expected to pay all costs for your stay to your accommodation provider.”

This advice is if someone tests positive, it makes sense that the same applies for a close contact, but I haven’t seen it in writing.

    @onashoestring

Many thanks for the link. Feel sure what Norwich.gov.uk posted would similarly apply in rest of England.

Seems sensible and above is what both parties did.  Neither used public transport, stopped to shop or mix in public. They also made their host/hotel aware of why they were leaving early.

I'd assume some accommodation providers would ask you to go home if possible.
Either way, I'd want to be insured against either extra accommodation costs, which could be thousands, or the wasted costs of holiday being cut short.

So far, neither insurance company that I've contacted has replied to me.

Staysure covers you if you can’t go due to T&T or having covid, and says it provides a daily amount if you’re diagnosed on holiday.

Thanks, several say that but what I'm specifically asking is whether you're covered if you DO go on the break, but need to come home if you're told to self-isolate (regardless of whether you test positive or not) OR need to isolate at the accommodation, which would incur additional costs.

Again, I've had no reply from any company about this other that to repeat the same scenarios that are not the ones I am asking about. They don't seem to know whether they cover this or not!
