We have been making over payments to our unsecured loan since 2010. Looking back at our statements it shows payment credited from DMP. Payment credited from overpayment. Day later the over payment is added back onto the existing balance. Therefore the balance increases by exactly the same amount by any extra payment we send.

Not sure why you have put this under COVID support - there is a specific mortgage forum that would be better -maybe one of the Forum admins will move?
