Morning all
Another scorcher on the cards here, I slept ok with the frozen cold water bottle and the windows wide open till the birds woke me at 4, so I got up for a wee shut the windows and went back to sleep for a while.
DD has taken her pup or her lady op today so we will all be on tenderhooks till we hear she is ok, its so much better for them in the long run but horrible taking them in.
Freedom day was lovelyI took mum up to drop her car off and then we went round and collected my sister who cant drive due to the accident with her hand, we came back here and had some lunch and then we gave mum a lesson on her new Ipad which was very funny, you have to keep talking to siri for voice recognition and mum kept getting the timing wrong and messing
it up, it took ages, mum also thought siri was a person sitting in an office somewhere waiting for your commands
Onto today I need to put a gammon joint in the sc after this and put some beetroot on to boil, I think I will just do some pasta salads to go with it as its too hot for anything else.
I am feeling so much better now, just got a persistant cough which can take weeks to clear.
Have good days all xxx12 -
Morning all,
Certainly seemed hotter last night, I am another looking forward to tomorrow when it should be a little cooler.Oh poor Steve with such a journey home, especially with the heat.
Welcome rolorich. This is a lovely, friendly group.
I am like you, and often think of my grandparents, who lived through the two wars and the financial depression. Grandpa was a soldier in the Great War and was injured by shrapnel, so was a fire warden in the Second War in London.
Had a lovely outing yesterday with my sister to a garden centre. We had a nice lunch, plus my sister treated me to a micro greens growing kit. It looks very simple to set up, that I think even I can manage it, and hopefully it will give me confidence to grow more next year.
well must get up and get going, not much planned for today except menu plan and organise online order for tomorrow’s delivery. Trying to keep the costs down, but certainly seem to get less for the cost now I’ve noticed.
Take Care all.

Hello all, I know my place, last as usual 😁I finally slept for a few hours last night 4am till 9am and I'm another one looking forward to some cooler nights this weekend. Not a lot of housework will be going on today as Dad is coming to lunch and tea so I'm cooking Mediterranean pork for lunch, very summery and there will be a pick and mix for teatime. He's booked himself in for a haircut chez moi this afternoon and as it's quite long it could take a while to knock back into some sort of shape. It's also still very curly so I can't use the pudding bowl method 😂I hope everyone has a good day, take care and stay safenan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11

Nanny, I dont want you to think you are always last so I'm stepping in
I tend to post when I'm having my breakfast but while it's been so hot have been doing jobs before it gets hotter, hence lateness.
I'm out in a bit with my old neighbour, not sure where we'll go yet.HH goodness that was some wait for poor Steve to get back.Csarina, I've just been reading about shelves being empty. My delivery yesterday was ok, the only sub was a different wild bird food!RR glad you are feeling better.Right better go and get ready to go out, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Just having a cuppa. I've been into town to get my hair cut - it looks a lot better now - but quite grey so I've bought a dye to put on. It's very foggy here this morning and drizzly, though still very warm.
I'm going down to mam and dad's for lunch later as my brother is coming for a visit, DD and little one are coming too. Then I have little one for a sleepover later.
We went to a local-ish pub/restaurant for tea last night - it was really nice. They were very short staffed - everywhere round here seems to be. One young lad really didn't know what we meant when we asked for a plate for little one - we saw him go and ask the manager.
She loved her tea and cheered every time the staff walked near our table carrying more food!
Had a nice chat to eldest DD while I ate my breakfast. She is off to Stockholm this afternoon, to visit friends as it is her birthday on Monday. She'd been for her Covid test which was negative thankfully. The fact that there's a pandemic doesn't seem to slow her down at all!
Well, I need to check my bank so I'll wish you all a good day.
i have a new cat flap being delivered from Amazon this morning. When I came back from London the flap was lying broken outside - no doubt biggest cat charging out!8 -
Ordered a new phone yesterday afternoon - it is being delivered today.
Rain forecast for Saturday - we have been invited to a bbq.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
