MBNA card being refused

in Credit cards
Since the lockdown in 2020 I have used my MBNA credit card to pay for my Click & Collect from my local Asda without any problems, now over the last few weeks the Asda site is not accepting my card with the message ' we don't recognise your card details'. So I have used a different card which is accepted. The MBNA card now also won't work on The Works and Fitflop web sites with similar error messages. All three sites have come back with more or less the same advice for this problem ' use a different browser', 'use a different device' or ring through your order, tried the browser and device advice still no good. Two phone calls to MBNA have proved no help they seem to think the sites are not using the correct security checking procedures but don't seem bothered about getting in touch with the sites for me. ( happy to lose the business I suppose) The card does work on a couple of other sites I tried it on but not on the 3 I mentioned, all of which I have used in the past. Anyone had the same problems or can offer any advice?

Three orders on asda.com in the last week and a half all OK with my MBNA credit card.

A quick way to check would be to use a different card and see if that works?0 -
Also, I’d ask for a replacement card if I were in your situation and then see if the problem persists.0

If the orders are taken when phoning then there is nothing wrong with the card.
Odd's on retailers have updated something on their sites that has broken the Visa/Mastercard system (not uncommon) MBNA can not do anything about that. As they do not supply the software to the retailers. They also can not flag it in to the retailers, as they have no link to them. All they could do is flag it to Visa or Mastercard. But they will want examples of the issue (o/s, browser etc) and will need hundreds of them, not just one.
Best bet to to complain to the retailers as it will be a error at their end. It's just a case of them getting enough complaints to look at the issue.Life in the slow lane1
