Eon energy but I've been switched to E.on next?
I've just gone into my Eon account to give a meter reading and all of a sudden, I have £370 worth of debit added to my account. I input the meter readings every month so I do not understand where this amount has come from. Also for some reason, my Account with eonenergy has all of a sudden become E.On Next and I keep getting harassed to have a smart meter by weekly emails.

Hi alldoors, apologies for the confusion with this.
E.ON Next is the new face of E.ON. Originally set up to manage all ex-Npower customers with new and improved systems. It works so well that we're moving over all original E.ON customers with an aim to have this completed by June 2022.
You say you provide meter readings every month but it could be that you're on a quarterly billing schedule, as most of our customers will be. So the £370 is the last 3 months worth of usage? You should be able to double check this online if you can access the bill. Page 2 will show the meter readings and the specific dates etc.
If you've moved over to E.ON Next you'll need to refer to them for any further queries. You'll be able to find their contact details on their website. They will also still be able to view all previous history from your account with us so can refer back to that if needed.
Regarding the Smart Meters, as you'll know, it's something that's being offered to all customers across the industry. In most cases you're not required to have one but even so it's worth having a think about and letting them know if you would like to take them up on the offer.

I have to say that my daughter was with n power and what a difference the switch made.
E.on next could not have been more helpful. Emails were Sent when said and emails replied to quickly. When she had a built up balance in credit they refunded when they said they would.
The people she and I dealt with were friendly and efficient. I only wish more companies were like it.3
